Fish Cross 2.0: Creative Businesses settling in on and around The Fish Cross in Ayr
8th November 2019

We are pleased that several new creatively-oriented businesses have popped up on and around the Fish Cross at the bottom end of High Street. At Tsukure, we envision that this is only the beginning of Fish Cross 2.0: a thriving part of town people want to visit.

The Riverside Studios

Earlier this year Riverside Studios run by Moving Arts CIC set up shop in the Afflex building at 27 High Street. Their mission is quite similar to ours. They have created a vibrant & sustainable cultural venue in the heart of Ayrshire.

Riverside Studios is open to the public through their Arts & Crafts workshops in Painting, Drawing, Silversmithing, Jewellery making, Stone Setting, Spinning, Weaving, Needle Felting, Pottery, Stained Glass, Glassworking & Wood Carving.

Riverside Studios is also an outlet for sales of the varied Arts & Crafts produced on site.

They have establish a hub for creative industries, providing a bank of Artists to facilitate our classes & local community outreach projects.

They aim to promote the Arts as a key driver for economic regeneration, increased employability, creative therapies, volunteering & learning opportunities for all ages, within their company & community.

They wish to establish new social enterprise & business partnerships within the town, nationally & internationally.

Riverside Studios is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm; they also run evening classes.

Earlier this summer Om opened up for business at 9 Old Bridge Street. We all need some help sometimes to get our creative juices flowing and Om is just the right place to get your metaphysical supplies. Here you can find incense, crystals, buddha's, jewelry, tarot cards, essential oils, dream catchers and so much more.

Om now has taken over the shop premises next door so that they can provide holistic therapies including reiki; crystal therapy; meditation; aroma, bamboo, and hot stones massage; as well as tarot readings.

Om is open from 10am to 5pm. Their phone number is 07834 240644 and their email is
